PRIME TIME SATURDAY NIGHT

ABC will be the host network for tonight's, USC TROJANS vs WASHCheck SpellingINGTON HUSKIES Pac-10 match-up. What will help USC tonight is the start time of the game. Alot of upsets today, so Pete Carroll should have his trips ready to roll. Making everyone on the team realize how many top 25 teams were beaten today.

Washington Jake Locker is completing just 50% of his passes and is throwing nearly as many interceptions as touchdown passes. We went against Locker earlier in the year against Syracuse. We get that night back tonight

The California Bears @ Oregon Ducks. After today's game the Oregon Ducks will be said to be involved in the National Title Hunt! This is the week that the cream rises to the top. After 45-24 win over Oregon, last year. Cal is a really good team but again this is not only a revenge game for
the Ducks it is also a map game. With Game Day in Eugene, Oregon Expect Dennis Dixon, to have a mistake free game.

Dixon has good head on his shoulders. Jonathan Stewart is a NFL style running back which allows Dixon to throw the deep ball. Dixon has 11 touchdowns and 0 int`s. Cal`s Nate Longshore and Desean Jackson
are good but at a packed house in Eugene, don't be surprised if they win by more 13 pts.

  • Ducks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.
  • Ducks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.

A lot of games on the board today, so we start with the 12:00 play as the PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS travels to play Illinois Fighting Illini. I ask myself, "Self, why is this line only +3?"

Today is the Revenge factor. Last night`s "PUSH THE CHIPS IN PLAY" I mentioned a revenge factor. Again it was more about putting the program on the map. Ron Zook as had top recreuiting classes come in to the Champaign.

Rashard Mendenhall will run and catch passes out of the backfield and will give PENN STATE trouble. This line only being 3? Tell me that the boys in the BIG CITY know something the public does not.

REVENGE OR UPSET ALERT

With all of my numbers favoring West Virginia by 4 and the line being 7 to 8. Amauter gamblers will be on West Virginia tonight -7 or -8. Why? Revenge factor! The avergae guy who thinks he knows the show will make big plays on WVU. Yes South Florida smoked them last year in Morgantown, however it setsup a little different to the HUMAN ELEMENT.

Pat White and Steve Slaton are more worried about themsvels winning the Hesiman and looking ahead to NFL now going to start to hurt this High Powered Offensive.

SOuth Florida is on the BIG SPOT LIGHT TONIGHT. They are more concerned about putting South Florida on the College Football map. They will look past the revenge factor and dont care about the White / Slaton combo. These guys keep their glasses 1/2 full.

While getting smoked last night on Southern Miss, we will put this game on UPSET ALERT.

Yes, thats right, Southern Miss travels to Boise tonight to play on the Smurf Turf, for there 3rd road game in as many weeks. Boise State is NOT the same Boise Team that has all of these trends fooling you.

  • Broncos are 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game.
  • Broncos are 29-11-1 ATS in their last 41 games as a home favorite.

Winning on the road in a come back win against ECU. They will be pumped for the Thursday Night Game on the Smurf Turf!

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

I remember the Championship game a few years back. I learned a very important lesson that night as I took USC -7. YOU NEVER BET AGAINST VINCE YOUNG! I made myself that promise after the game that night and have stuck by ever since. The Saints are not as good as last year and that is obvious. Drew Brees had a great year last year, but that is exactly what it was LAST YEAR. They are trying to get the ball to Reggie Bush extremely to much! You will see tonight Deuce Mcallister get alot more touches and maybe even the first rushing TD this year! McAllister is averaging 4.4 YPC, but has only 20 carries to date. Brees has a 1 to 3 Touchdown to INT ratio and a depleted receiving core. T

The Titans come into tonight's match-up with no major injures. Look for Lendale White to also have a good game tonight, as he looks to be the guy left out of the hype.
I also love for the Titans to build on an impressive 11-1 record against NFC South teams under coach Jeff Fisher. They swept the NFC South during the 2003 campaign, outscoring their opponents, 135-73. Still no-one wants to give this Titan team the credit it deserves!

  • Titans are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss.
  • Titans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
  • Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog.
  • Titans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.
  • Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games.
  • Titans are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games as an underdog.
  • Titans are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win.
  • Titans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
  • Titans are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
  • Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite of 3.5-10.0.
  • Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.
  • Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game.
  • Saints are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.
  • Saints are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU loss of more than 14 points.
  • Saints are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

GIFT GIVING IN SEPTEMBER!

Tonight's late game will be the Dallas Cowboys +3 vs Chicago Bears. The Dallas Cowboys have looked unstoppable through the first two weeks of the 2007 season. Don't look for it to slow down tonight.

Cowboys signal-caller Tony Romo has quickly elevated himself from goat status with a strong start to his campaign. The second-year starter, who drew unwanted attention for an ill-fated botched hold in last year's disheartening one-point playoff loss at Seattle, has thrown six touchdown passes and just one interception in Dallas' opening two games.

Romo (531 passing yards, 6 TD, 1 INT) currently leads the NFC with a 119.3 quarterback rating, while entertaining wide receiver Terrell Owens (8 receptions) has already caught three touchdown passes and is averaging 23 yards per catch. Tight end Jason Witten has become Romo's second option in the absence of veteran wideout Terry Glenn (knee surgery), and the talented target has amassed 143 yards on eight grabs.

Marion Barber (154 rushing yards, 3 TD) has been extremely effective so far this year. Look for him to start taking over from Julius Jones and become the #1 back in Dallas.

SUNDAY WEEK 3 AFTERNOON GAME !

Today's afternoon game will be the NY GIANTS vs WASHINGTON REDSKINS -3. With Eli still nursing the sore shoulder, Plaxico Burress banged up and tight end Jeremy Shockey will have to play good football today.

The Redskins knocked off Philadelphia 20-12 on Monday night, getting a GOOD performance from young quarterback Jason Campbell and another dominant effort from their defense. Led by hard-hitting safeties Sean Taylor and rookie LaRon Landry DB Carlos Rogers, Shawn Springs, the unit has allowed only one touchdown in the first two games.

Redskins defense is playing very consistent and with no running game the Giants will have to pass. When Eli gets down he tries to force to many passes, making this match-up perfect for the Redskins defense.

Redskins wide outs Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El are Campbell's deep threats and can stretch practically any defense in the NFL, although neither speedster has yet to reach the end zone this season. Tight end Chris Cooley is mainly used as a blocker but can give opposing defenses trouble with his ability to get open on a consistent basis. Cooley came down with a tough TD grab Monday at Philadelphia. Expect Cooley to have a BIG GAME today. Portis and Betts will run well today behind a new look O-line, with several starters hurt. The Giants are not the same and the Redskins are better than last year as players are starting to believe in the Joe Gibbs system!

THURSDAY NIGHT TEXAS A&M vs MIAMI

What a game tonight! After no games the last tonight's this may be the hardest game so far I have done this year. As I'm looking over all of my numbers here. I ask myself, Self Everyone and their brother loves A&M tonight along with the UNDER. Well the opening lines for this game were Miami -3 and the O/U opened at 48. Why would the Canes still be favored against #20 Texas A&M? Lets take a look

Texas A&M hasn't proven it should be considered one of the top teams in the nation. They have played Montana St. UL-Monroe, Blew a 19-point lead against Fresno St. So they really have not played anyone and I'm not sure if they deserve the #20 ranked team in the country. Miami of course has not really played anyone either with there 2-wins against Marshall and Fla-Int. The Ass kicking they got from Oklahoma 2-weeks ago was a wake up call for the Canes Miami has a lot to prove and a win would go a long way for this team's confidence. Kyle Wright has been better than average over his career and I expect him to have a good season now that he is entrenched as the starter after averaging 11.0 yppp last week. Texas A&M doesn’t defend the pass well, as the Aggies have allowed 6.3 yppp to two bad passing teams (Montana State and UL Monroe) and one average passing team (Fresno State) who would combine to average only 5.0 yppp against an average defensive team. While Miami is having success in the air it will be up to the Hurricanes’ stout run defense (4.0 yards per rushing play allowed) to contain the Aggies’ outstanding rushing attack (301 yards per game at 6.5 yprp).

We will fade the public tonight

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

A big game tonight for both the visiting Washington Redskins and the home team Philadelphia Eagles. Both of these teams need this win.

REDSKINS +7 vs EAGLES

Washington can go 2-0 behind the running back tandem of Portis and Betts. The Eagles are trying to avoid an 0-2 start. Philadelphia has won nine of the last 11 meetings with Washington. The only two losses came during the Eagles' disastrous 6-10 season in 2005 - the only year of the previous six they failed to win the division. However this is not the same Eagles team and McNabb is not the same as in the past.

Washington comes in off a 16-13 overtime win against the Dolphins that still showed a Redskin offense struggling to put points on the board.

Washington must compensate for the loss of veteran right tackle Jon Jansen, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in last week's 16-13 overtime win over Miami. Todd Wade, who wasn't active for the opener, will make his second start in as many years in place of Jansen.

The Redskins still managed 400 net yards without their best lineman. The bulk of them came from Antwaan Randle El, who had five catches for a career-high 162 yards after managing 32 catches for 351 yards all of last season - his first with the Redskins.

Alot of running tonight, not to say the Skins pull off the upset but cover the line tonight. Besides I cant find any pictures of any Eagle player girlfriends as hot as Chris Cooley`s girlfriend, Christy Oglevee in Maxim magazine.

THURSDAY NIGHT

After taking the last two nights off, we have a good rivalry game on tonight. West Virginia goes to take on the Maryland Terrapins. With backfield combo of Steve Slaton and Patrick White, both of whom are legit Heisman Trophy contenders, you would think that would be the easy play.

West Virginia isn’t a defensive power – going back to last season, the Mountaineers have given up at least 23 points to eight straight opponents. That means they likely have to score at least 40 points on Thursday night in a hostile Byrd Stadium.

Maryland’s defensive unit is embarrassed about last year’s loss at West Virginia. The entire unit is using last year’s debacle in Morgantown as motivation this year and the coaching staff is helping, posting pictures of Slaton and White and articles gushing about the WVU run game over every defender’s locker. Maryland has a pair of mountains in the middle of its defensive line in Dre Moore and Carlos Feliciano, both intent on shutting down the gaps West Virginia exploited last year.

The Terps lead the nation in time of possession in 2007 and the defense has been on the field a total of 48 minutes this year compared to 65 in the first two games last year. Maryland boasts one of the ACC’s best receiving corps, and possibly the conference’s deepest. Head coach Ralph Friedgen is also likely to use more of the playbook against his first big opponent of the season, finally letting Jordan Steffy make plays when points are needed instead of relying on the run.

MONDAY NIGHT GAME 2 LATE GAME

We all will be paying a tribute to the legendary BIL WALSH tonight. So the 49`ers will be jacked. Although I'm pretty sure that no current 49ers played for him, they know and respect him. As much as he was around that organization he had anfect on everyone on that team. They will fell like they need to avenge him,

Cards @ 49`ers -3

The West Coast Offense is not what will help us get the cover tonight. It will be the San Francisco Defense. With considerable upgrades on the D, NT Aubrayo Franklin, rookie LB Patrick Willis, OLB Tully Banta-Cain, SS Michael Lewis, and CB Nate Clements. The 49`ers might not shut down the High Powered Pass of the Cardinals, but it should slow them down just enough to cover this -3 spread.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

We go into Monday night with 2-games on the board. Ravens @ Bengals at 7:00 pm and the Cardinals @ 49`ers around 10:15 pm. Of course going back to one of our rules,
"ONE GAME AT A TIME" so with that, we will be doing game one, for the first part of tonight's PHATLINE.

Steve Mcnair is getting up there in age but continues to GET IT DONE through injury. Steve McNair, who was solid in 2006 and is expected to take a positive step forward in year two running Baltimore's offense. He will also be looking to attack a Cincinnati defense that was tied for last in the league against the pass last season and ranked just 30th overall. Another great stat I love is that Mcnair
, has connected on 21 touchdowns in the past 12 seasons against various Bengals’ defenses. Remember, that since head coach Brian Billick took over the play calling duties starting in week 8, the Ravens became an average offensive team from that point on. The Ravens’ attack looks a bit better than average this season with Willis McGahee replacing a finished Jamal Lewis at tailback.

The secondary remains among the most feared groups in football, with cornerbacks Chris McAlister (47 tackles, 6 INT) and Samari Rolle (52 tackles, 3 INT) in charge of the receivers and safeties Ed Reed (59 tackles, 5 INT) and Dawan Landry (69 tackles, 5 INT, 3 sacks) lending help over the top. As a team, the Ravens ranked first in the league in total defense and takeaways (48) last season.

The Bengal offensive line was banged up throughout the preseason, though left tackle Willie Anderson (foot) and right tackle Levi Jones (knee) should both start tonight but will not be enough for Carson Plamer. The #3 wide out Chris Henry, who’s been suspended for the first 8 games of the season.

  • Bengals are 7-16-2 ATS in their last 25 games as a home favorite.
  • Bengals are 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 home games.
  • Bengals are 1-6-2 ATS in their last 9 games as a home favorite of 0.5-3.0

Tonight's game of will be the show that their offense can survive without Barber, no matter what the vain ex-superstar believes, and that their re- tooled defense is going be a season-long work in progress. The new look Cowboys under head coach Wade Phillips will be a joke. They may win tonight but will not cover the -6.

Eli racks up big yards tonight as alot of peeps out there think Dallas` D-fense will be as good as last year. NEGATIVE. Julius Jones will lose his starting job to Marion Barber probably by week4.
Romo will trow his 2- touchdowns tonight but TO and Romo will not be enough without Terry Glenn.

GIANTS +6

4:15 WEEK 1

Going with the guy nobody believes in here in the afternoon. John Kitna +3 vs Raifders. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz is loaded with weapons across the board. He has a stable of wide receivers to get involved in the pass game and is excited about veteran quarterback Jon Kitna, who still has the physical ability and football savvy to lead the offense. The Detroit defense will be put to the test every week, especially in the secondary. Oakland will again have a tuff D, but will alos have the worst Offense in the league.

PATS vs JETS PREGAME UPDATE

ESPN.com: SPORTSNATION - "The Jets also report that CB Andre Dyson is inactive Sunday with a bad foot. That most likely puts rookie Darrelle Revis against Randy Moss, a most tempting pairing to be sure. If Moss is right, he could break a big one."

NFL WEEK 1:00

After the 100% chance of rain yesterday, for all of the first 2-mins. of the game and then clear skies after that gave us our only loss of the day going 2-1 with an UPSET ALERT winner and a Blow out by LSU. Leads us into a few games that we will like to play today.

NEW ENGLAND -6 vs JETS

I know this is a conference game but the J.E.T.S are that B.A.D Though the Pats could be missing three key defensive starters, the action says the public still likes the favorite. Not a high public percentage at around 65% -68%

“We put out +6, but we probably should have recommended a higher number,” said Pete Korner, founder of the Sports Club in Las Vegas. “We’re going to need the Jets.”

  • Patriots are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 meetings in New York.
  • Patriots are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 meetings.
  • Favorite is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings.
  • Road team is 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 meetings.

VT vs LSU GAME OF THE NIGHT

This will be the game of the week featuring two top-10 teams squaring off in Baton Rouge ESPN GameDay will be there, and it's been billed as a national championship elimination match. That might be going a bit too far as both could possibly still make the title game by running the table, but that's getting a little ahead of oursevles.

This game though, may not live up to the hype as our simulations have LSU a big favorite as its winning almost 90% of the time by an average margin of almost 16 points. Both teams have terrific defenses, but the main difference in this game appears to be the offensive playmakers for LSU.

Hokie quarterback Sean Glennon looks to be improved from an uneven season a year ago, but he still doesn't seem ready to be a national championship caliber signal caller. He's only averaging 0.6 touchdowns in sims while his counterpart for LSU, Matt Flynn, is going for 2 scores. The Tigers are also chewing up the yardage on the ground gaining better than 200 yards on the Hokies led by Jacob Hester and Keiland Williams. Virginia Tech's Branden Ore is a great talent, and he's averaging just over 70 yards and not even half a score per simulation. LSU tackle Glenn Dorsey and his fellow defenders should give Ore trouble all day.

Kenny Lewis JR . is the fastest player on the Hokies will still not see any playing time. BIG MISTAKE. Ore can not get it done and should be replaced by the speedster Lewis (Lewis` dad is a former VT Hokie and Wide Out for the NY Jets)

LSU clearly has the upperhand in this match-up of ranked teams. It has more weapons on offense, the better quarterback, and is playing at home in Louisiana, is which gives opposing QB trouble calling plays.

LSU -11 is the play of the night.

SOUTH CAROLINA vs GEORGIA RIVALRY GAME UPSET ALERT

Big rivalry game tonight in the SEC. For those bettors unfamiliar with SEC history, Spurrier and Georgia go way back – as in back to the 1960s, where this venomous and very personal rivalry began.

You see, when Spurrier was a senior quarterback at Florida, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1966, the Dawgs denied the Gators their first SEC title in school history and a coveted trip to the Sugar Bowl.

And Spurrier never forgot about it – still hasn’t.Spurrier has beat UGA in 11 of 12 meetings. Nine of those 11 victories came by double-digit margins, with Spurrier “running it up” every chance he got. From 1994-1996, the Gators outscored the Dawgs by a combined count of 151-38 (52-14, 52-17 and 47-7).

When the Dawgs were racking up top-10 recruiting classes under Ray Goff in the early 1990s, they often finished ahead of UF in recruiting rankings. So every time the Gators demolished the Dawgs, Spurrier scoffed, “Georgia gets better recruits than us, but I guess we coach ‘em up a little better.”

Georgia is 1-6 ATS its last 7 at home vs. Conference foes. Gamecocks were 6-0 ATS on the road last season and their lone loss their last six away vs. SEC foes was a one-point loss at National Champ Florida. In addition, supporting angle says to Play On - Underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points (S CAROLINA) - with 17 or more total starters returning, in the first month of the season (44-20 since 1992, 68.8%).

With 81 % on the Bulldogs, we will be taking the GAMECOCKS + 5 tonight.

BAD WEATHER ALERT

With a cover last night takes us to a 4-1 record going into today. There will be a few post today with the first at high noon.

Against Marshall, the Hurricanes generated only 81 yards of passing offense, with quarterback Kirby Freeman connecting on only 9 of 21 passes. Not that Freeman got much help. Against Oklahoma, the Hurricanes are faced with playing a ranked team on the road, which has not been a recipe for success lately.Miami has lost five consecutive games to ranked teams on the road or at a neutral site. Last season, the Hurricanes were 1-4 away from the Orange Bowl, with the lone victory coming in a down-to-the-wire struggle with win less Duke in Durham, N.C.

  • Under is 4-0 in Hurricanes last 4 games following a ATS win.
  • Under is 10-1 in Hurricanes last 11 games in September.
  • Under is 5-1 in Hurricanes last 6 games following a S.U. win.
  • Under is 5-1 in Hurricanes last 6 games as an underdog.
  • Under is 10-2 in Hurricanes last 12 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.
  • Under is 5-0 in Sooners last 5 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.
  • Under is 7-1 in Sooners last 8 games following a ATS win.
  • Under is 5-1 in Sooners last 6 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game.
I liked Oklahoma earlier in the week, but now with the weather being 100% chance of rain in Norman you may want to consider taking the CANES +11. Again the stats above are their for a reason. The rain should keep the ball on the ground. If the ball is on the ground then clock is running. This game should go under 42. If you are one of the lucky ones you got the line at 42 1/2 and of course going back to a post earlier in the week, we "NEVER GET HOOKED" so you would have got it at UNDER 43. Either way should be a winner with both.

Next play will be the South Carolina vs Georgia Game @ 5:45

Navy put all of its numbers last week against one of the worst teams in the country. Rutgers also has the 13 returning starters. Could be a blow out!

SAINTS vs COLTS

This is the game that is chosen for tonight`s play. Why you may ask? Several reasons. I love the college game, but we are going with opening night NFL tonight. Before I get into tonights PHATLINE, remember that they are several rules we will try to follow this year. Of course there are millions of rules that you can follow, but we are going to use these for awhile.

  1. ONLY PLAY THE GAMES THAT ARE ON TV. Why? I want to be able to watch my money! I don't want to have plays out there that I have no clue what down it is? Who is playing well? Have to keep refreshing waiting for automatic updates etc. Don't get me wrong there are always a play out there that could be a gift but would rather spend time on games that will be on then games I have to keep checking. You get the point.
  2. STAYING DISCIPLINED. Not having plays out all over the board chasing thinking we can get it back when down. Try to keep 1-play at a time.
  3. NEVER GOOD HOOKED. Something that I will never do. I will always take the point up or down but never let it (1/2 point) float.
  4. THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS. But there is always room for you to hit the percentages.
Enough about that, back to tonight's play.

COLTS -6

Super Bowl winners is 5-0-1 ATS in week one. Super bowl loser is 0-9 ATS in week one (CHI). The Colts finally got the postseason monkey off their backs when they overcame a 28-3 halftime deficit against New England in the AFC Championship and cruised through the Super Bowl over a Chicago team that was able to shut down the Saints in the NFC Championship. Playing at home, the Colts were 7-3 ATS last year and 6-1 when favored by single digits. Colts are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. Also tonights power ratings has the Colts in this game by 11-13 pts covering the easy 6. Here are a few other trends that I liked for the game.
  • Colts are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite of 3.5-10.0.
  • Colts are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 1.
  • Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on Turf.
  • Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.
  • Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite.
  • Colts are 18-6-1 ATS in their last 25 games in September.

MOVING ON WEEK 2

After forgetting to post on my Clemson +3 gift Monday night, I guess I was still in disbelieve that the head coach from Syracuse Greg Robinson had a job. The boys in Orange could not do ANYTHING against the Huskies this past Friday. Washington`s Jake Locker ran all over Syracuse.

ESPN came out with there Bottom 10, they forgot to include the Cuse as one of the worst teams in college football.

Oh well, back to Clemson +3 over Florida State. Clemson looked strong in the first half of the game with lots of offensive and big time defense allowing only one first down, 62 yards and trailing 24-3. I know it might do you any good now, but there is reserch that goes into games that are posted plays, With Clemson covering we will hopefully take it into Thursday nights game

No games on tonight (Football anyways).

There will be 3-games on THURSDAY NIGHT. Check back to see which game will be the Thursday PHATLINE! Until then enjoy the hottie pic!
